Psychotherapy for teens, families, & adults

Not every current has to pull you under

You’ve probably already tried to make sense of it from every angle, hoping the right book, conversation, routine, or late-night revelation would finally make everything click. All that effort has done important work in keeping you afloat until now.

AT COUNTER CURRENT, SKILLED THERAPEUTIC CARE BUILDS ON THE WORK YOU’VE ALREADY DONE TO FIND NEW POSSIBILITIES WHEN THE OLD WAYS STOP WORKING.

You don’t need to be “in crisis” to be heard

AND THERAPY DOESN’T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL EVERYTHING HAS ALREADY GONE SIDEWAYS.

Sometimes the signal is quieter: the after-school activity that’s become a fight, the relationship running on bare minimum, or the life blueprint you followed starts to feel wrong.

Hi, I’m Katie

REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST IN TORONTO, ONTARIO

I spend a lot of time on the water, usually paddleboarding, so I know the instinct to fight the current. To brace, push harder, and try to force your way through.

But sometimes resistance is worth listening to before you try to move past it.

What would happen if we slowed down enough to understand what it’s protecting, reacting to, or trying to say?

This is the heart of my approach to therapy, whether you’re a teenager fighting against expectations, a parent trying to stay connected through conflict, or an adult realizing the life they built doesn’t feel quite like theirs anymore.

You’ve gotten yourself this far with the tools you’ve had. Together, we’ll honour those strategies while learning how to work with the pull instead of against it.
